A container that is disembarked from a ship is only moved once (by the crane) to be placed on the GTS line; it can then, without any additional handling, be transferred to storage areas, several kilometres away (within or outside the harbour).
Once on the GTS line, freight travels alone to its final destination. No driver is needed.
Very low energy consumption, reduction of handling, no need for drivers.
The speed being constant and uninterrupted (whatever the weather) , the time of arrival of goods can always be planned with accuracy.
