GTS : Economic Avantages

Elimination of the need for storage in harbours:

A container that is disembarked from a ship is only moved once (by the crane) to be placed on the GTS line; it can then, without any additional handling, be transferred to storage areas, several kilometres away (within or outside the harbour).

Elimination of (human) costs

Once on the GTS line, freight travels alone to its final destination. No driver is needed.

Extremely low transportation costs, due to the conjunction of several factors

Very low energy consumption, reduction of handling, no need for drivers.

Particularly suitable for companies working on a just-in-time basis

The speed being constant and uninterrupted (whatever the weather) , the time of arrival of goods can always be planned with accuracy.
